The SIM-PI is a professional-grade digital PIR detector designed to deliver reliable indoor motion detection while minimizing false alarms caused by small animals. It utilizes a specially designed optical lens, a quad (four-element) PIR sensor, and ASIC-based signal processing to accurately distinguish between human motion and environmental interferences.

How It Works

The detector operates using passive infrared (PIR) technology. When a person moves across the monitored area, their body heat is detected by the sensor's optical system. The quad element PIR sensor captures changes in infrared radiation and, through advanced signal analysis, the device decides whether the motion is valid. This significantly reduces false triggers caused by pets, reflections, airflow, or lighting fluctuations.

Pet Immunity up to 25 kg

The SIM-PI includes a built-in pet immunity algorithm and lens design that allows it to ignore motion from animals weighing up to 25 kg. This makes it ideal for homes and offices where pets like dogs or cats roam freely.

Temperature Compensation

Built-in digital temperature compensation ensures consistent performance across a wide temperature range from –20 °C to +50 °C. It prevents false alarms caused by rapid temperature fluctuations or heat sources in the room.

Adjustable Sensitivity and Pulse Count

The detector allows fine-tuning of motion detection via a sensitivity potentiometer (15%–100%) and selectable pulse count (1, 2, or 3). This enables customization depending on the room size, environmental conditions, and required level of detection accuracy.

Installation Versatility

The SIM-PI can be installed on walls, in corners, or on ceilings using an optional bracket. Installation height should be between 1.8 m and 2.4 m. It includes punch-out holes for screw mounting or can be mounted using adhesive tape. The LED indicator can be enabled during testing or disabled for discrete operation.

Protection and Interference Immunity

The detector features EMI/RFI protection and can withstand interference up to 30 V/m as well as electrical discharges up to 50,000 V. A tamper switch is triggered when the housing is opened, providing security even when the system is disarmed.
